Mejoras en las playas de Barrañán y Repibelo
This year, the Port Authority plans to undertake the improvements to the Barrañán and Repibelo beaches in Arteixo
Today, the Port Authority of A Coruña has put out to tender the contract for the works to provide sand to the Barrañán beach, in Arteixo. The budget is €148,000, and the execution period is one month. The improvement is conditioned to the environmental proceedings by the coastal authority of Galicia.
The project belongs to the monitoring works being carried out in the beaches that may be affected by the transport of sediments as a consequence of the construction of the Outer Port.
Repibelo, close to the Sabón beach, was found to have experienced an increase in large boulders, which hamper activities there. Therefore, in coordination with the regional coastal authority and the council of Arteixo, the boulders on top of the beach will be moved to create a beach area, and the stones in the tidal flat will be moved aside. The goals is to facilitate access to the shore. In order to finalize the action, the beach profile and slope will be improved.
The work is part of the environmental surveillance programme of the Outer Port in Punta Langosteira. The budget for the works is €17,500 euros and they will be completed in May.
The rest of the beaches in the municipality are all being studied to plan a global action for the coming summers in the whole area together with the regional coastal authority and the council.
